Job Title: Assistant BIM Coordinator
Reports To: BIM Coordinator
Overview
The Assistant BIM Coordinator supports the Data Center Division by enhancing internal BIM processes, maintaining organized project documentation, and optimizing Revit standards for company-wide use. This role bridges technical production and project operations by participating in non-technical coordination meetings, translating project needs into BIM workflow improvements, and developing standardized procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency across projects.
Working closely with the BIM Coordinator and technical drafting team, the Assistant BIM Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining organized project data, refining Revit standards, and contributing to continuous process improvement throughout all phases of a project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-construction Mobilization
- Attend external non-technical coordination meetings to capture new project requirements
- Assist in project BIM setup including file structure, template preparation, shared parameters, view standards, and sheet organization
- Assist in creating and updating company BIM SOP documentation
- Help identify project-specific modeling risks, documentation gaps, or workflow inefficiencies early in the process
Mobilization Phase
- Participate in ongoing coordination and operations meetings to track project developments affecting BIM deliverables.
- Support optimization of Revit workflows, families, templates, and modeling practices to improve efficiency.
- Assist and maintain organization of file management between technical drafters and internal use
Post Project
- Organize and archive final models, drawings, and documentation per company standards.
- Update BIM SOPs and Revit Standards based on project lessons learned.
- Refine internal templates, families, and workflows for future data center projects.
- Support development and organization of a centralized knowledge library for recurring data center conditions
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ year of experience in AutoCAD (Autodesk Revit, highly preferred)
- Proficient in ACC highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple incoming documents and maintain structured file systems.
- Ability to attend and contribute to non-technical coordination meetings and accurately document action items.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced data center environment.
- Willingness to study for and obtain NICET certification
Expectations:
- Maintain exceptional file organization and version control across all project documentation and BIM models.
- Demonstrate steady growth in Revit proficiency while consistently applying internal standards.
- Communicate clearly in meetings and proactively support workflow efficiency and team coordination.
Compensation and Bonus Structure
This position will receive a salary and an annual bonus. The bonus will be based on the performance of the division relative to the budget that was set. To be eligible for a bonus each year, the budget must be based on actual forecasting and show a level of reasonable YOY growth agreed upon by the Leadership Team. The base bonus amount will be between 5% and 10% of the salary with the ability to increase or decrease based on actual performance to budget.
