Job Description: Release Manager – Enterprise Platform Environment


Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Release Manager to lead the release planning, coordination, and deployment of enterprise platform capabilities across a complex ecosystem of applications and user groups. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Oracle systems and complementary enterprise applications such as UKG, Passport, Vertex, and GEP, or other comparable systems. This individual will be a key enabler of scalable, secure, high-performing enterprise environments, supporting business-critical operations for a large, diverse user base.


Key Responsibilities

Release Management & Strategy:

  • Own the end-to-end release lifecycle — from planning and design through testing and deployment to production including partnering with various teams to define requirements and acceptance criteria for upcoming releases, pushing deployments to staging environments, ensuring proper testing and QA activities occur, and finally deploying to production. During each step, communication with key stakeholders is critical.
  • Define and maintain the release management framework, calendar, policies, and controls, ensuring clear communication to all stakeholders of any updates or changes that may impact business activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business owners, QA, security, DevOps, and support to ensure seamless, timely releases.
  • Monitor and report on release health, post-release validation, and incident resolution processes.
  • Develop metrics and controls to measure release management quality.


Enterprise Platform Environment Governance:

  • Establish governance, best practices, and scalable processes for multiple platform environments (e.g., dev, test, staging, production).
  • Coordinate environment refreshes, data masking, versioning, and upgrade paths across integrated platforms.
  • Communicate environment connectivity and various environment purposes to the business and end users to ensure proper usage during testing, training, and production activities
  • Identify design problems with the enterprise environments and collaborate with others (external vendors, product teams, process owners, and business) to resolve them.
  • Provide recommendations to platform and process owners on how to improve overall release management quality.
  • Analyzing environmental issues, identifying trends, taking proactive steps to resolve issues, and coordinating for a long-term fix.


Vendor Environment and System Integrity Management:

  • Actively manage environment integrity and co-dependencies across enterprise systems in partnership with external suppliers and internal stakeholders. Environments include, but not limited to:

Oracle Cloud ERP, HCM, SCM

UKG Pro/Dimensions

Passport

Vertex

GEP

  • Partners with vendor support teams, internal process and platform owners, and other stakeholders to manage release roadmaps, patches, hotfixes, and upgrades.


Process Optimization & Compliance

  • Drive continuous improvement in release processes using ITIL and Agile best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with change management, SOX, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Document release activities, approvals, and rollback strategies.


Qualifications:

Required

  • 7+ years of experience in Release Management or a similar role within enterprise IT environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Oracle Cloud technologies and deployments, other comparable complex systems.
  • Experience coordinating releases across HRIS, ERP, Field Service Management, procurement, tax, and capital management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, CI/CD, and environment management practices.
  • Experience working with cross-functional global teams and external vendors.


Preferred

  • Certifications in Oracle, ITIL, Agile, or PMP.
  • Experience with automated testing, deployment tools, and DevOps pipelines.
  • Exposure to ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
  • UKG, WFM, Passport, GEP, Vertex ecosystem familiarity

Benefits and Compensation:

This role will be based out of our New Brighton office. The pay range is $117,100 - $175,600, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for annual bonus and profit sharing based on company performance in addition to other benefits that support the total well-being of you and your family.
