Fire Sprinkler Inspector Position
The Fire Sprinkler Inspector is responsible for testing and inspection of fire sprinkler and life safety systems as well as preventive maintenance, calling upon knowledge of multiple manufacturers’ products. The Inspector will provide accurate and detailed inspection reports with all proper documentation of deficiencies and noted improvements. Inspection reports should contain enough data about the noted deficiencies or recommendations so that a solution proposal can easily be provided to the customer. The fire sprinkler inspector will be expected to develop their skills, certifications and overall technical understanding of all facets of our industry.
This position has a salary range of $29-$37 per hour depending on experience
Job Responsibilities
- Perform fire sprinkler, backflow preventer, fire pump, 5-year assessments, fire extinguisher, and emergency/exit lights testing and inspections in a knowledgeable and thorough manner.
- Complete electronic and/or handwritten inspection reports in a thorough and timely manner.
- Ability to work independently and use provided personal protective equipment.
- Maintain a positive attitude and represent Sunland in a professional manner.
- Document deficiencies in a way that expedites the turnaround of repair quotes
- Respond to supervisor and customer’s needs (i.e. prompt return of calls, quotes, etc.)
- Obtain tools and equipment for projects as required.
- Coordinate with other TEAM members as required to complete efficient inspections.
- Keep current with new technology, state and local codes.
- Ensure maintenance and upkeep of company provided vehicles, returning proper documentation as required.
- Communicate effectively with other TEAM members and leaders in the company.
- Make backflow preventor repairs.
- Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years experience in the fire protection industry
- NCFSIT or NICET II+
- Hands on inspection experience across wet, dry, and backflow systems
- Hands on inspection experience across pre-action, foam, and fire alarm systems, preferred
- Understand NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) and building and fire codes.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a small, self sufficient team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively; both verbally and written.
- Valid driver’s license; in accordance with company policy required.
- Able to pass a post-offer drug test and background check.
