Fire Protection Project Manager Position 

This individual will coordinate and manage fire sprinkler systems projects for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. The Project Manager will be responsible for the initial planning of projects, scheduling, resource management, and problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle. This includes the coordination of personnel, subcontractors, and resources to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery.


This position has a salary range of $73,000 to $98,000 per hour depending on experience 

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Review construction contract documents and coordinate with subcontractors and General Contractor/owner to gather the required information to design the project’s sprinkler system. 
  • Employ analytical thinking and problem-solving to determine construction feasibility and project possibilities.
  • Develop initial and long-range schedules for project work and oversee overall project planning and scheduling.
  • Maintain historical records and documentation for all project management functions for future reference.
  • Foster positive, lasting relationships with customers to ensure the company is meeting their expectations.
  • Coordinate with other departments within the office to ensure proper handover of job information.
  • Monitor and manage projects to comply with safety, quality, productivity, and profitability requirements.
  • Directly manage the field labor force of assigned projects to assure maximum productivity.
  • Track employee hours and crew mix rates for each project.
  • Ensure proper project staffing is in place.
  • Identify changes in projects that impact cost, schedule, or labor requirements.
  • Ensure change orders/change estimates are completed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor project billings for accuracy and maintain a positive cash flow.
  • Continually monitor progress of projects and review reports to ensure compliance with schedule and budget guidelines.
  • Assist/lead during the field check stage of the project.
  • Forecast future workplace requirements.
  • Oversee the work of subcontractors.

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Degree in Construction Management or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • Experience managing construction-related projects (approximately $50K–$1M+ in value)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Strong experience in resource planning, scheduling, and coordinating project timelines
  • Proven ability to manage projects from initiation through completion, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met
  • Experience in commercial, industrial, or residential construction environments preferred
  • Knowledge of fire protection systems or related industry is a plus
  • NICET certification preferred or willingness to obtain with company support
  • Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
