The Opportunity: This opportunity is supporting the North America Safety Segment in operational excellence of business platforms including but not limited to Field Service Management (FSM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Capital Management (HCM), Payroll and Workforce Management (Timekeeping) tools. The operational excellence business team will take responsibility for end-to-end capability and deliver value within that capability to end users and team members with a focus on continual improvement and efficiency.


Position Summary:

The Financial Business Process Owner & Innovation Hub Leader serves as the strategic and operational leader for designated accounting processes, representing the business in all aspects of process design, governance, and optimization. This role partners closely with IT, key business stakeholders, OpCo Super Users, and cross‑functional teams to implement, maintain, and continually enhance critical accounting processes and supporting systems. The Financial BPO & Innovation Hub Leader ensures alignment between current operations and the organization’s desired future state while upholding relevant regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls. This role also provides oversight and leadership for Level 3 Support to ensure timely resolution of complex process or system issues.

In addition, this role owns end‑to‑end process and system capability for designated finance and accounting workflows, ensuring the platforms, controls, data, and user experience enable business performance, transparency, and decision‑making. The Financial BPO & Innovation Hub Leader acts as a forward‑looking leader who translates operational data into strategic insight, proactively shaping scalable capabilities that support growth, margin optimization, and enterprise value.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Accountability & Governance

  • Owns the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of operational accounting outputs, including work‑in‑process (WIP), job costing, margin visibility, and operational financial reporting
  • Ensures accounting processes provide clear, actionable insight into operational performance, enabling leaders to make informed, forward‑looking decisions rather than relying solely on historical results

 Enterprise Continuous Improvement

  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives that connect accounting processes to real‑world operational outcomes, improving predictability of results, cost control, and execution discipline
  • Leverages operational and financial data to anticipate trends, risks, and opportunities, shifting the accounting function from reactive reporting to proactive business enablement

 Standardization & Enterprise Scaling

  • Establishes consistent, enterprise‑wide approaches to operational accounting, including WIP management, job cost structures, and project lifecycle accounting, while allowing flexibility where required by the business
  • Ensures scalable accounting models support growth, acquisitions, and evolving operating models without sacrificing control or visibility

 Process Strategy, Design & Documentation

  • Establishes performance metrics that connect accounting outcomes to operational execution, such as WIP accuracy, job cost variance, margin realization, and forecast‑to‑actual performance
  • Uses insights from performance data to guide strategic process investments, system enhancements, and operating model decisions

 Performance Monitoring & Optimization

  • Establishes the performance framework for the process, including KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Regularly reviews performance analytics to identify bottlenecks, uncover root causes, and drive corrective action or transformational change.

 Executive Stakeholder Leadership

  • Acts as a trusted advisor to senior leadership by translating complex operational accounting data into clear strategic narratives and decision‑ready insights
  • Influences enterprise priorities by articulating how accounting process maturity directly impacts scalability, profitability, and long‑term business performance

 Innovation & Technology Enablement

  • Shapes the long‑term vision for how technology, automation, and analytics enable operational accounting excellence, transparency, and predictive insight
  • Ensures technology investments are driven by business outcomes, not just system functionality, with a clear focus on value realization and strategic impact

 

Skill Set Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of how accounting process supports business objectives
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of APi Group systems and processes, including culture and ways of working for accounting processes
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams to deliver system solutions
  • Demonstrated track record of process design and implementation
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate ideas and solutions
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Strong facilitation skills to drive issue resolution and consensus efficiently and effectively across all levels of the organization, as well as multiple business units / functional area stakeholders
  • The ability to participate in program activities occurring in multiple time zones and travel as necessary


Preferred Experience:

  • Accounting leadership experience working in the APi Group family preferred, with experience leading teams to deliver business solutions
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related business operations function.
  • 5+ years leading end-to-end process ownership, business process optimization, or enterprise system transformation (e.g., ERP, financial systems). ‑to‑end process ownership, business process optimization, or enterprise system transformation (e.g., ERP, financial systems).
  • Demonstrated experience partnering closely with IT on system implementations, upgrades, enhancements, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Proven track record leading cross‑functional teams and influencing at senior levels.
  •  Experience in a multi‑entity, multi‑location, or shared services environment strongly preferred.


Technical & Process Expertise:

  • Expert knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of process design methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, BPMN) and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and related financial systems.
  • Ability to translate business needs into process and system requirements aligned with future‑state design.

  • Change leadership experience, including guiding teams through implementations, upgrades, and major process shifts

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience overseeing Level 3 Support or similar technical escalation functions.
  • Familiarity with automation, workflow tools, or digital enablement technologies (RPA, AI-driven tools, analytics platforms).
  • Knowledge of process governance frameworks and enterprise controls environments.


Benefits and Compensation:

This role will be based out of our New Brighton office. The pay range is $140,000 - $210,000, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for annual bonus and profit sharing based on company performance in addition to other benefits that support the total well-being of you and your family.
