JOB DESCRIPTION:

Fire Alarm Sales Leader

Energetic, self-starter who is looking for a long-term employment relationship. Likes to work with others and being part of a team. Has a good work ethic and strives for top performance. Possess excellent communication skills with a professional attitude and appearance. Provide customer service, meet sales goals for providing fire safety systems and service. This individual will cultivate new business relationships, maintain existing accounts, and ensure the fulfillment of established goals through estimating and proposing on fire protection projects. Embrace a consultative selling technique that includes the ability to analyze client needs, communicate appropriate solutions, and facilitate sales to closure. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Establish contact with prospective and qualified potential buyers of new commercial fire alarm systems and associated equipment. 
  • Determine customer needs by conducting site surveys and communicating effectively to educate the customer about International Fire Protection Inc.’s capabilities. 
  • Create and conduct effective proposal presentations, identifying the customer’s fire and life safety issues, the effects of the problems and solutions offered – expected to be involved in the production of accurate price quotations. 
  • Develop and maintain an active proposal backlog to support the established sales plan. 
  • Develop and maintain new and existing customer relationships that meet or exceed their expectations of a long-term partner. 
  • Support other International Fire Protection Inc. Teams in their initiatives as they relate to your territory. 
  • May procure, dispatch and bill service orders. 
  • Assist customers as needed and provide technical support as needed. 
  • Track jobs to completion, assuring that all valid extras are quoted and closed. 
  • Work with the Administrative Assistant in aiding with the collection of invoices, making sure they are current. 
  • Keep abreast of marketing opportunities through sales calls, networking, and other market related information. 
  • Lead customer presentations, “lunch and learns" and other relationship building meetings. 
  • Complete understanding of all International Fire Protection Inc. and Branch sales pricing worksheets and contract terms. 


JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must be experienced in the fire alarm, mechanical, or electric field required. 
  • Experience in the life safety industry is a plus. 
  • Willing to work together as a team with other departments and company locations. 
  • Ability to analyze, assess and address customer needs. 
  • Active listener with critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills. 
  • Strong working knowledge of different types for fire sprinkler systems and system components. 
  • Strong working knowledge of life safety and NFPA codes. 
  • Viable local relationships with General Contractors. 
  • Strong prospecting skills and proven ability to close. 
  • Ability to grow market share and meet goals. 
  • Windows, Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook. 
  • Possess proficient communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Knowledge of national and local codes (NFPA 70,72,101, IBC/IFC, etc.) 


EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS: 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), a college degree is a plus. 
  • NICET Certification is a plus. 


OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Valid State Driver License 
  • Willing to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • Depending on the customer’s site, noise level could be quiet (as in a library or public office) or moderate (as in a business office with computers and light traffic). 
  • Mostly a physical demanding role. Much of the daily demand is walking to conduct site surveys, standing, occasionally climbing ladders, and comfort with working at heights. 
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. 
  • Frequent visits to customer and construction sites, may be indoors or outside. 


Compensation & Benefits: 

IFP does not provide benefits for part-time employees under 20 hours. Should you begin working over 20 hours per week in the future, benefits include: 

  • Medical and prescription insurance (Eligible 30 days after start date) 
  • Fifteen PTO days (Eligible 90 days after start of employment, pro-rated first year) 
  • 401K (Eligible after 20 days of work, the first day of the following month) 
  • License, certification, and training fees (included for part-time employees)
