Role Summary:

Our GTA Branch is looking for an energetic Fire Alarm Estimator to work as part of our team performing design take-offs and building estimates. This is a branch office-based role working directly out of the Mississauga office 5 days a week. This is a new vacancy.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Read electrical specifications related to fire alarm and life safety.
  • Review architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings to determine equipment to be used as well as remark on any identified design flaws.
  • Create quotes for contractors and building owners.


Job Requirements:

  • Electrical engineering technologist coupled with at least 5 years of industry experience.
  • Practical experience working with fire alarm system control equipment and devices.
  • Solid understanding of Building & Electrical Codes.
  • Solid understanding of ULC standards as they apply to fire alarm controls.
  • Familiarity with other standards relating to fire system installation (NFPA, CSA)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Must have a valid Provincial driver's license with a clean driving record.


More about the position:

  • Experience working with Edwards fire alarm systems & equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Practical AutoCAD experience is an asset
  • Strong detail-oriented, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Adaptable to changing environments.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Self-motivator with a positive outlook
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision/self-motivated and desire to work on a winning team.
